Usually a mechanical man but this is my first E-powered aside from a hoverboard and after changing the stem I realised I shorted the ignition wires, I’m unsure how badly but as a car and bike mechanic cutting a soldering wires are a norm and it seemed the best thing to do on the ignition wires here as they weren’t detachable from the old stem without removing the foot panel, anyway after refit and wires soldered and shrink wrapped I realised the display wouldn’t work at all and the scoot would malfunction on charge, it didn’t previously do that… in cars it would be a short or something causing it but I’m no electrical specialist I just learned the bare electrical necessities to fix the mechanicals etc.
Anyways I’ve stripped it down and somehow it works partially again but here’s the following;
Battery is showing a constant of 52v with no/ minuscule fluctuation = normal (as far as I know for a 48v system)
Motor Controllers don’t have much signs of damage except Controller B shows what could be a small burn mark near an earthing point (seems easily done to fix with a spare part, if not changing is perfectly fine by me)
Power level cuts out when it’s put on charge (did not previously do this, it would cut the display but the ignition charge bars would stay illuminated)
since working again, front wheel doesn’t drive in or out of dual motor mode and resists movement as if power is going to it (turning it by hand it is like being on minimal throttle and clicking against magnetic resistance)
What’s my best part to change first as I want this scoot mint so I can upgrade, my first guess would be the motor controllers for the swap tbh but if I could just change the display controller it’d be more convenient.
I also have a G2 pro project in lots of little bits round a friends house and I’m going to have to build it, so if I end up replacing any part from my g booster I’ll probably end up refurbishing and using on the g2 as it’ll take most the same internals (if it doesn’t then it does now as the g2 has been gutted for parts already, ask my steering stem lmao)… the g2 as far as I know just has a lower frame and motors
Thanks to anyone who can help in advanced
